Our story

HD Artwork began with a shared love of wildlife photography and a collection of old photographs from Southern Africa.

Some of the images began as slides taken from the 1960s onwards. For years, many were thought to be lost. With modern scanning and digital tools, we’ve been able to bring them back into view and prepare them for print.

Today, we bring together wildlife photography, digital artwork and carefully chosen images from artists and photographers. Our aim is to make striking, high-quality wildlife photography prints that people can enjoy in their homes and give as gifts.

The photographs

The original slides offer a glimpse of Southern African wildlife and landscapes from another time. They were taken on traditional cameras and preserved as transparencies. We scan and work with these images to recover detail and colour while keeping the character of the original photograph.

Each image has its own story. We want to help those stories reach a new audience through our prints.

Preparing each image for print

We use digital tools, specialist equipment and our experience in IT to prepare images for print. This can include restoring older photographs, refining details and developing artwork from original images.

We take care to preserve the feel of the source image while making it suitable for a high-quality print. We also work with other artists and photographers to bring more of their work to the collection.

A growing collection

HD Artwork brings together wildlife, scenery and still-life artwork across posters, canvas and other printed products. We’re continuing to grow the collection and hope you find something here that speaks to you.
